About me

I'm glad you're here.

My name is Ann and I'm a qualified counsellor working with adults across Prudhoe, Hexham, and Ryton. I offer a warm, confidential space where you can speak freely and begin to make sense of what you're carrying.

Mabire Counselling therapist

My background

I trained as a person-centred counsellor and have worked with individuals facing a wide range of challenges — from anxiety and depression to grief, relationship difficulties, and major life changes and transitions, for example, retirement, health issues.

Life experience, and my experience as a counsellor, has given me a deep appreciation for how much our experiences shape us — and how much can change, by being heard, feeling valued, and supported.

I'm a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework, which means you can trust that your wellbeing is always at the centre of our work together.

How I work

My approach is person-centred — which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. I don't offer advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I offer a space where you can think out loud, explore what's really going on, and find your own way forward. Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or fortnightly, and entirely led by you.

No judgement

Whatever you bring to the room, I'll meet it with openness and care.

Confidentiality

Everything you share stays between us, with only the standard ethical exceptions.

Your pace

There's no agenda, no pressure. We go at the speed that feels right for you.
